Introduction

Rain had been forcasted, but there were clear skies with pleasant temperatures that day. We met at the at the first site, a road cut in Brookville, Indiana. The site exposes the top of the Arnheim Formation and  the Waynesville formation. About 30 people attended altogether. There was a promise to visit neighboring road cuts if time and weather permitted. As it turned out, two additional sites were visited that day.

Bill Heimbrock lead this trip and began with an introduction to the layers exposed here. His handout included  selected data from the 1977 field guidebook in which Helen B. Hay described this site.
