And the dig goes on.....

Hammers were pounding a rhythm to the brain.

Then 15 minutes before the 4 pm daily closing of the Ridgemount Quarry - Jim Cox exposes the largest Eurypterid head yet!

Both wonderful and scary at the same time, the head continues into the rock with arms intact. It looks like it's very large and very complete. All hands assembled to try to expose and extract this complete Eurypterid before the quarry locked the gate on us in 15 minutes. Here are some pictures of the mad rush.

Success! With the very welcome expert help of Malcolm Thornley and John Spina, the specimen was extracted and we were able to leave the quarry with the appreciated patience of the quarry management.
