Our October 28th, 2007 trip to the PCS Phosphate Mine in Aurora, North Carolina had some major problems. When we arrived by car from Cincinnati to North Carolina, we found that the mine had been closed to both mine workers and all fossil collectors due to muddy conditions from heavy rain. We were able to return to the site a few weeks later. But for the October trip, all we have to show for it is a few photos, so here they are.

We were able to collect a few fossils from a pile of material dumped for the public to sift through.

See the photos from our return trip when we did get to go into the mine.
