The second annual "Search for Noids, Pods and Zoas" field trip was a big hit.. (June 12, 2004) We had more than twice the number of families attending than last year!

This annual event is open to the public and advertised in the local papers and other media. The event is in memory of the late Hank and Laura Barton, long time members of the Dry Dredgers, who have contributed so much to the group over the years. It is the brain child of their daughter, Jan, who poured her heart and soul into planning this event and investing an impressive amount of time and money to ensure its success. The Dry Dredgers are forever grateful to Jan for all she has done. |
The "Search for Noids, Pods and Zoas" was a
family outing, aimed at the young paleontologist in all of us. The event
educated youth on Cincinnati's rich fossil resources to widen their recreational
horizons, while inspiring them to advance themselves into amateur and
professional Paleontology.
The trip began in a strip mall parking lot, where we gathered, met each other, signed in and received gifts and information about the fossils we were going to find on the trip.
In addition to the gifts, there were beautiful T-shirts
raffled off. The T-shirts had a fossil identification chart right on the shirt!
